This AI and Pet Health Disclaimer (the “Disclaimer”) is issued by Koeta Inc. (“Koeta”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a corporation incorporated under the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, in connection with the PetKira mobile application and related services (the “Service” or “PetKira”), which is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

1. Scope

This Disclaimer applies to all artificial intelligence features of the Service, including the Kira AI assistant, any generated meal plans, nutrition recommendations, health scores, wellness insights, activity suggestions, or other outputs produced by or through artificial intelligence (collectively, the “AI Features”).

The Service currently supports dogs and cats only. The AI Features have not been designed or evaluated for any other species, and you must not rely on any output in relation to an animal of another species.

2. Nature of the AI Features

The AI Features are intended solely to provide general informational and educational content and wellness-support tools to assist pet owners in tracking care and exploring nutrition ideas. Recommendations are generated from information you supply about your pet together with general knowledge contained in the underlying models. They do not constitute, and must not be treated as, an individualized clinical assessment, physical examination, laboratory evaluation, or the exercise of professional veterinary judgment.

3. Not Veterinary Medical Advice

Koeta is a technology company. Koeta is not a veterinary clinic, does not employ or act as a licensed veterinarian in the provision of the Service, and is not licensed to practise veterinary medicine in any jurisdiction.

The AI Features, including any meal plans, nutrition suggestions, health scores, insights or other content produced by Kira, do not constitute and are not intended to be:

• (a) veterinary medical advice, diagnosis, prognosis or treatment;
• (b) a substitute for the professional advice, diagnosis or treatment of a licensed veterinarian; or
• (c) intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition in any animal.

No veterinarian-client-patient relationship is created by your use of the Service or the AI Features.

You must always consult a licensed veterinarian (and, where appropriate, a board-certified veterinary nutritionist) before making any change to your pet’s diet, feeding regimen, or care, particularly if the pet is a puppy or kitten, senior, pregnant or nursing, has any known or suspected health condition, is receiving medication, or has special nutritional requirements. You must not disregard professional veterinary advice or delay seeking it because of any information obtained through the Service.

4. Limitations of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence systems, including those powered by third-party large language models, operate on probabilistic principles and may generate incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, biased or inappropriate results (commonly referred to as “hallucinations”). All outputs depend entirely on the accuracy, completeness and currency of the data you enter. Koeta does not independently verify the information you provide and makes no representation or warranty of any kind regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, currency or suitability of any AI Feature for any particular pet or purpose.

5. Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

• (a) providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information about your pet(s);
• (b) independently evaluating the appropriateness of any recommendation for your individual animal before acting on it;
• (c) continuously monitoring your pet’s health and response to any dietary or care change; and
• (d) seeking prompt professional veterinary attention whenever required.

If you use a Family or Household subscription, the primary account holder is responsible for ensuring that every invited member has read and agreed to this Disclaimer. All users who access shared pet data are bound by this Disclaimer.

6. Emergencies

The Service is not an emergency or crisis service. If your pet exhibits signs of distress, injury or illness — including without limitation difficulty breathing, seizures, collapse, uncontrolled bleeding, severe or persistent vomiting or diarrhoea, suspected poisoning, inability to stand or urinate, trauma, or any rapid deterioration — you must contact a licensed veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital immediately. Do not rely on the Service or any AI Feature in urgent or life-threatening situations.

7. Assumption of Risk and Limitation of Liability

BY ACCESSING OR USING ANY AI FEATURE YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU ASSUME ALL RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH ANY DECISION MADE IN RELIANCE ON ANY CONTENT GENERATED BY OR THROUGH THE SERVICE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY THE LAWS OF ANY APPLICABLE JURISDICTION, KOETA INC., ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY, ILLNESS, DEATH, LOSS OR DAMAGE TO ANY PET OR PERSON ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR RELIANCE UPON, ANY AI FEATURE OR THE SERVICE.

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of any applicable jurisdiction.

8. Incorporation

This Disclaimer is incorporated into and forms an integral part of the PetKira Terms of Service. Continued use of any AI Feature constitutes acceptance of this Disclaimer.

• At registration you are asked to confirm that you accept the PetKira Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. This Disclaimer forms an integral part of the Terms of Service, so accepting the Terms constitutes acceptance of this Disclaimer.
• A short notice appears with AI-generated output: “Not a substitute for veterinary advice. Always consult a licensed veterinarian.”, together with a link to this Disclaimer.
• The full text is available at all times in the application under Settings > Legal, at petkira.com, and is linked from the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
• Where we make a material change to this Disclaimer we will give notice in accordance with Section 16 of the PetKira Terms of Service.
